Teen and Tween Therapy
If your child or teen wants to work on more person-specific challenges, therapy can be a wonderful option to get compassionate support.
Our Approach
The tween and teen years can be intense emotionally, socially, and neurologically. At Connect Counseling, we provide supportive, developmentally informed therapy for teens and tweens, especially those who are neurodiverse, LGBTQIA, and/or living with chronic illness.
Adolescence is a time of rapid brain development. Emotions feel bigger, social pressures feel heavier, and independence is growing…but regulation skills are still developing. We help young people build self-awareness, coping tools, and confidence in a safe, affirming space.
We support teens and tweens with:
Anxiety and panic
Depression and low motivation
School avoidance or academic stress
Social anxiety and friendship issues
Bullying
Identity exploration (including LGBTQIA+ affirming care)
Neurodivergence (ADHD, autism, sensory differences)
Chronic illness
Emotional regulation challenges
Family conflict
Life transitions
We use evidence-based, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy approaches tailored to each client’s needs. Parents are included in developmentally appropriate ways, because when caregivers are supported, teens thrive.
